Insulin Benefits
Insulin should be injected into the fatty tissue just beneath the skin, not the muscle. Use shorter needles if needed and consult your doctor before changing your technique.
Have your insulin pen, a new needle, and a tissue ready. Make sure the pen has enough insulin. Always know where your kit is and inform family in case of emergency.
Wash hands, attach the needle, and perform a 2-unit air shot to clear bubbles. Choose a fatty area, pinch the skin, insert the needle, inject slowly, and hold for 10 seconds.
